Level 1 Charger: This is the basic charger that comes with most electric vehicles. It uses a standard 120-volt AC outlet and provides a charging rate of about 2-5 miles of range per hour. Level 1 chargers are portable and convenient for charging at home or locations with standard outlets, but they are the slowest charging option.
Level 2 Charger: Level 2 chargers operate at 240 volts AC, requiring a dedicated circuit and professional installation. They offer faster charging speeds, typically providing around 10-30 miles of range per hour. Level 2 chargers are commonly used in residential settings, workplaces, and public charging stations.
DC Fast Charger (CHAdeMO, CCS, and Tesla Supercharger): DC Fast Chargers, also known as Level 3 chargers, use direct current (DC) power to charge EVs rapidly. They are usually found at public charging stations or along highways. DC Fast Chargers can provide up to 60-80 miles of range in just 20 minutes, depending on the vehicle and charger capabilities.
